Preparation for the Listening Midterm Exam (in the Call Lab)

Today we listened to the lecture "Americans at Work."

Please read pp. 28-29 in order to prepare for the test tomorrow. For exercises 1 and 2, decide which questions are good and which ones are not for each category

As a comment to this post, write two good questions based on the lecture that you would give if you were the teacher of the class: one short answer question and one essay question (identify which is which).

    2. Essay question: describe how are the US workers doing nowadays?

      2. It's a statement, not a question. But this question is vague; I'm not sure what kind of answer you want.

    1. compared to 1900, in 1990, what might a reason that cause the percentage of woman labor had increased from 19% to 60% ?
    2. what are the two possible reasons that cause wages stagnated after 1974 ?

      It's an interesting question, but the subject was not discussed in the lecture.

    Short answer question: The productivity of the industries has increased in the past 40 years. Where does the money goes?
    Essay question: In the United States, workers work long hours, have small vacations and do not see their salaries going up. In your opinion, why they still have high productivity?

    Short Answer Question: based on what you have listened to, what are the circumstances if the stock market collapsed on both the workers wages and the CEOs salaries?
    Essay Question: explain how did the low force changed children labor and women labor percentages between 1900-1999?
