In now days, there is an interesting phenomenon, almost every criminal who are facing death penalty declare that there are suffering with mental illness. OK, that might be true for some people, but that could be a perfect reason to escape from death penalty; as long as they can pretend they have mental illness. However, they don't have to be responsible for the thing they done just because they have mental illness? what if they hurt people again and who should be responsible for the victim's family? court? government? last year, there was a young adult who attacked people with a knife randomly in subway, 10 more people were hurt and 4 people died. Of course, he was arrested. Originally, he said that he killed people because he thought that living in this world is suffering, he killed people on purpose: he wanted to be arrested and to be sentenced to death. He said that he had planned this astonishing incident before he really did it. Having a choice, he would have done it again. Pretty recently, he started saying that he is suffering with mental illness, WT...Follow me !!!!!!!! In my opinion, not just me, in most Taiwanese's opinion, even if he really has mental problem, he shouldn't be released.
